CAIRO – 11 March 2020: Matt Swider, an American journalist in the technology newspaper TechRadar, thanked Egyptian doctors and “THE PEOPLE” after he tested negative for coronavirus and called on Egyptian Health Minister Hala Zayed to end his quarantine procedures.

On his Twitter account, Swider posted a picture of him wearing an “I Love Egypt” t-shirt, and standing with Egyptian doctors.

“Good news! I tested NEGATIVE for #CoronaVirus in #Egypt and have no symptoms. This pic is 2 days ago but I remain here. I Heart suit Egypt, the doctors & THE PEOPLE, but I miss my family & friendsDisappointed but relieved face. Please, Minister of Health, send me home. RT to let me go home!”

Zayed presented a report on coronavirus, saying the number of cases in Egypt until Tuesday reached 60 (8 were discovered directly and 52 were discovered through follow-up measures), pointing out that 26 of the discovered cases changed from positive to negative but only one infected person died.

On the quarantine hospitals in Matrouh and Abu Khalifa in Ismailia, the minister said the number of beds in the two hospitals reached 163 along with 64 beds at intensive care units and 50 respirators.

She pointed out that her ministry is dealing seriously with all reports and queries about the COVID-19 and taking measures necessary for stopping the spread of the virus.

Globally, the World Health Organization reported the infection of 109,578 cases and the death of 3,807 due to the new deadly virus.
