CAIRO - 8 March 2020: Egypt’s First Lady Entisar al-Sisi greeted Egyptian women on the occasion of International Women’s Day (IWD), praising their role in the society over the history.

On her official Facebook page, the first lady said women prove their ability to take national responsibilities as active partners in the society on a daily basis.

She added that Egypt’s history testifies for the significant role played by women in different eras, saying Egypt has “an honorable and bright history… with all due respect to every woman and girl on Egypt’s land.”

Meanwhile, the Egyptian presidency published on its official page on Facebook a video clip containing extracts of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi's speeches, in which he praised the leading role of women and their accomplishments.

Sisi paid tribute to the great Egyptian women, saying they are makers of happiness. He added that the development of any nation is closely linked to the women's effective contribution to the society.
