CAIRO – 24 February 2020: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Monday the heads of the intelligence services participating in the Arab Intelligence Forum in Cairo.

"President Sisi welcomed the delegations participating in the forum, and highlighted the severity of the multiple crises and successive challenges taking place in the international and regional arenas and reflecting their repercussions on security and stability in the Arab countries," said spokesperson of the presidency Bassam Rady in a press release.

Rady added that President Sisi assured Egypt’s support to all initiatives that would enhance cooperation between Arab countries in various fields.

For their part, the attendees thanked the president and Egypt for hosting this important meeting, which contributes to exchanging visions and perspectives to deal with the numerous challenges facing the Arab region.

The spokesperson stated that the meeting witnessed a discussion of the most important topics that were addressed in the forum, especially combating terrorism, extremist ideology and organized crime. It also shed light on the best practices and ways to effectively confront these threats in a manner that takes into account the developmental, social and cultural characteristics of the Arab countries, as well as achieving security and stability.
