CAIRO - 18 February 2020: The Cairo Criminal Court on Monday adjourned till March 2 the trial of 215 members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group in the case known in the media as "Helwan Brigades".

In February 2015, the prosecutor general ordered the 215 suspects to be referred to the criminal court, while keeping 127 of them in pretrial detention, until the remaining suspects are captured and brought to justice.

The defendants are accused of forming armed groups called "Helwan Brigades" with the aim of carrying out attacks against policemen, destroying property and public facilities, as well as vandalizing electricity towers and transformers.

During investigations and questioning, 51 suspects confessed to joining the armed groups as well as illegally possessing firearms, ammunition and explosives.
