Egypt, Colombia discuss boosting bilateral ties

CAIRO, Feb 17 (MENA) - Assistant Foreign Minister for US Affairs Mahi Hassan Abdel Latif conferred with Director for Asia, Africa and Oceania at the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alfredo Ramos Gonzalez on means to boost relations between Egypt and Colombia.

This comes as part of a political consultations session that tackled means to promote bilateral cooperation in numerous political, economic and cultural fields including trade, investment, agriculture, education and tourism in addition to combating terror and corruption.

During the consultations, the Egyptian side reviewed the recent positive economic indicators and the promising investment opportunities available in Egypt.

Both sides discussed a set of proposed memorandums of understanding covering a wide range of areas.

They agreed on boosting the volume of trade and investment to be commensurate with the two countries' economic potentials and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
