CAIRO – 16 February 2020: Head of the Egyptian Society of Neurology and the Neurosurgery Department at the Kasr Al Ainy Faculty Prof. Maged Abdelnaseer was elected the new head of the Pan Arab Union of Neurological Societies (PAUNS).

In press remarks, Abdelnasser said this position is deemed a tribute to the neurosurgery community in Egypt, because the Federation recognizes Egypt's leadership and contributions to this field, and the superiority of its physicians.

He also pointed out that this conference is considered the most significant event for neurologists that witness the presence of the best doctors in this specialty in the world.

The Pan Arab Union of Neurological Societies was established in Cairo, Egypt in 1975. The first Pan-Arab meeting took place in the same year.

The organization includes all Arab countries present in the Arab League. A Pan-Arab meeting is organized every two years.
