CAIRO, Jan 22 (MENA) - The 4th Health and Botanical Health Committee meetings opened at the Arab League headquarters on Wednesday within the framework of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA).

The committee meetings are chaired by Egypt and attended by representatives of the Arab states.

The two-day meetings tackle preparing a draft bill on health and botanical health within the framework of the GAFTA and in light of remarks presented by some Arab states particularly Lebanon, Morocco and Qatar to be finally formulated before submitting it to the upcoming meeting of the Economic and Social Council as a supplement to the free trade agreement.

The supplement on health and botanical health within the GAFTA aims at the member states' wish to promote and coordinate efforts in this respect based on standards, guidelines and recommendations by organizations of the countries concerned.
