CAIRO - 19 January 2020: The Participating States in the Berlin Conference on Libya pledge not to interfere in Libyan domestic affairs.

The countries taking part in the conference include Egypt, the United States, Russia, China, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Turkey, European Union, the UAE, Algeria, Congo, Arab League and African Union. The Tunisian president declined the invitation to attend the conference because it was late.

In a conclusion statement, they said that the ongoing situation in Libya threatens the international stability and security, calling upon the conflicting parties in Libya to make a truce.

They also called on the United Nation Security Council to impose sanctions against any Libyan party violates the ceasefire, the leaked statement said.

Berlin conference on Libya Kicked off Sunday with the aim of concluding a truce between warring parties and paving the way for reconstruction under an elected civilian government.

he conference is attended by Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez al-Sarraj, Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Khalifa Haftar, UN Envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame, Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi Algerian President Abdul Majeed Tebboune, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit.
