CAIRO - 16 January 2020: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar on Wednesday received German Ambassador to Egypt Cyrill Nunn to consider means of promoting scientific, research and educational cooperation between the two countries.

The minister praised strong ties between Egypt and Germany in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

He asserted that Egypt is keen to enhance cooperation with Germany in the sectors of modern technology, particularly artificial intelligence, medicine, engineering and technical education.

Abdel Ghaffar stressed the importance of cooperation between new universities in Egypt and German universities.

Nunn affirmed that his country is eager to cement ties with Egypt in several fields.

Both sides discussed how to make use of German expertise to develop technical education in Egypt, increase the number of scholarships for Egyptian students to study in the European country and expand partnership between Egyptian and German scientific and research institutions.
