Algeria's Tebboune to attend Berlin meeting on Libya

ALGIERS, Jan 14 (MENA) - Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Monday received an invitation from German Chancellor Angela Merkel to attend an international conference on Libya due to be held in Berlin.

During a phone call, Merkel invited Tebboune to take part in the conference which is slated for Sunday in Berlin, according to a statement issued by the Algerian presidency.

The Algerian president accepted Merkel's invitation, the statement added.

The north African country has observed an intensified diplomatic activity to tackle the evolving situation in Libya, topped by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry's visit.
