CAIRO - 7 January 2020: The Ministry of Environment is currently implementing several measures to control air pollution for the first time, as it aims to reduce the pollution caused by solid particles by 50 percent by the end of 2030.

These measures aim at improving air quality, and supporting efforts to monitor and improve air quality.

According to a statement issued by the ministry Tuesday, these measures come within the framework of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development "Egypt 2030".

The ministry started procedures to control the use of traditional methods for the manufacture of charcoal, and the environmental, health and economic problems that follow. The ministry also developed a plan to develop coal industry.

Within the ministry’s plan, the use of environmentally sustainable technology that comes in line with Egypt's 2030 strategy, and which takes into account the environmental dimension is the basis for controlling the level of air pollution.

The ministry has finished setting the environmental conditions necessary for the implementation of the plan, in coordination with all relevant authorities, and a decision was issued by Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly regarding these conditions and procedures.
