CAIRO – 9 December 2019: “Youth Love Egypt” organization launched Sunday a campaign in cooperation with the Egyptian ministry of irrigation, and the ministry of youth to clean the Nile waters in Giza governorate with the participation of 200 volunteers from the African Union.

The founder of “Youth Love Egypt” organization, Ahmed Fathi, said that the campaign aims to raise water and environmental awareness in Africa to protect the existing organisms. Fathi added that the organization has previously launched a campaign in April, named “Cleanshores”, to reduce the consumption of plastic in north of Africa, the campaign included Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria, it operated in Cairo, Giza and several other governorates.

The head of Egypt’s African Youth Bureau, Hasan Ghazali, that the participants were provided by the African Union Youth Volunteers Corps (AU-YVC), they represent 54 African states. Ghazali pointed out that the campaign is hosted by the Olympic Center For Training National Teams in Maadi.

The volunteers managed to clean the Nile water of 2 tons of wastes.
