CAIRO - 2 November 2019: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Said Al-Assar witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the National Authority for Military Production and the Swiss company "TCG" for cooperation in the field of converting waste to energy.

The signing ceremony was attended by Local Development Minister Mahmoud Sharawi and Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad.

The signing comes in light of the state's interest in developing the waste management system to contribute to improving the environmental, health and living conditions of the citizens and achieving an economic boost.

This memorandum aims to cooperate between the Ministry of Military Production and the Swiss company to establish factories to convert waste into energy so that the waste is processed to generate energy in any form, either to (electric power or thermal energy).

This cooperation comes within the framework of the implementation of the strategy of the Ministry of Military Production to cooperate with international companies for the transfer and localization of modern technologies in various fields of manufacturing within the companies to deepen domestic manufacturing, reduce import and provide foreign currency to enhance the national economy.

For his part, Robert I Hargitai, Executive Director of the company "TCG" Swiss company interest in cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production due to the available capabilities in terms of technologies, manufacturing, technical, research, human capacity and infrastructure.
