Officer arrested selling narcotics to prisoners

CAIRO – 15 June 2017: A non-commissioned police officer at Zagazig prison from Sharqia Governorate was arrested for selling drugs to prisoners, security sources told the media Wednesday.

The investigations revealed that the officer was carrying 35 narcotic tablets, two small bags of drugs and LE 500 ($27). He was caught smuggling narcotics into the prison and selling them to prisoners.

The officer was previously arrested over an attempt to smuggle 10 kilograms of narcotics inside a car at the Ahmed Hamdi Tunnel on April 21.
