ACUD signs agreement with German company to manage drainage system

CAIRO - 9 October 2019: The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) announced Wednesday signing cooperation protocols with the German group, Dorsch,to benefit from their experience in the management and maintenance of the system of utilities.

According to spokesperson of the Administrative Capital Company Khalid al-Husseini, the agreement stipulates the preparation of Egyptian cadres to manage, operateand maintain the system.

He also added that the aim of the agreement is to establish a joint company between the Administrative Capital Company for Urban Development and Dorsch to manage, operate and maintain the smart integrated systemsof drinking water, irrigation and sewage and their stations.

It was agreed that the authorized capital of the joint-stock company would be a joint Egyptian-German investment worth LE 250 million.

Dorsch is also responsible for providing all services in the field of water, drainage and irrigation to residents ofthe newcapital in accordance with the highest international standards.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi inaugurated Egypt’s new administrative and financial capital,located 45 kilometers east of Cairo, on October 11, 2017.

The New Administrative Capital’s business park will encompass 20 towers, including the tallest tower in Africa at a height of 345 meters. Construction of the residential district started in May 2017 to include 25,400 units, including residential apartments, villas and commercial units.

Egypt is looking forward to having dozens of cities like the New Administrative Capital, President Sisi said during his speech at the inauguration ceremony of the new city’s first phase.
