CAIRO, Sept 20 (MENA) - Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ezz Eddin Abu Steit has discussed with EU Ambassador in Cairo Ivan Surkos the bloc-funded agricultural projects, as part of the 2020 Egyptian-European partnership, said a statement by the Agriculture Ministry on Friday.

Those projects include supporting a national campaign for vegetable breeding and seed production, minimizing the impact of climate change on small farmers in Egypt, and enhancing quality control on agricultural products in local markets, as well as developing the capacity of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, the statement added.

During the meeting, the agriculture minister stressed the EU's continued support for Egypt as being one of the key development partners in the different economic and social sectors, the statement noted.

For his part, Surkos said the EU pays great attention to these projects, expressing hope that feasibility studies to be finalized by October, the statement noted.
