CAIRO – 1 September 2019: Kuwait Attorney General Dherar Al-Asousi described the visit of his Egyptian counterpart, Nabil Sadek, to Kuwait as "historic," as it is the first time for an Egyptian attorney general to visit Kuwait.

Sadek arrived in Kuwait on Saturday in a visit that coincides with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's third visit to Kuwait.

Asousi said in a statement to the Kuwaiti Al-Rai newspaper that his Egyptian counterpart's visit to Kuwait comes at his invitation, revealing intentions to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two sides.

"It is a memorandum of understanding and technical cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt at the level of the public prosecution," Asousi said, adding that it focuses on a number of points including "the exchange of information between both prosecutions, the judicial delegations, and judicial assistance which comes in accordance with diplomatic channels."

It also includes organization of courses and coordination in regional and international forums and positions, as well as the exchange of visits and workshops and the organization of joint legal programs, Asousi told Al-Rai.

Sisi was received on Saturday by Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. They are expected to hold talks focusing on enhancing bilateral relations in a way to serve mutual interests.

Sisi met with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah.
