CAIRO- President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Egyptian First Lady Entisar al-Sisi wished all Egyptians a happy 1441 Hijri year, the Islamic New Year, which started on Saturday.

“I extend my best wishes to the great Egyptian nation. Happy New Hijri year, praying to Allah to give His blessing, compassion and tolerance upon all Egyptians and our Islamic and Arab nation, Happy many returns.”



First Lady Entisar al-Sisi wished all Egyptian a happy new Hijri year, saying “Together, we celebrate a beginning of a new Hijri year, an occasion in which noble humanitarian principles were laid down in peace, love and brotherhood.Happy many returns to all Egyptians."



The Egyptian government has announced that Sunday is an off-day for the Islamic New Year, instead of Saturday, which is a normal official off-day.
