KHARTOUM, Aug 19 (MENA) - Sudan's Transitional Military Council announced on Monday delaying for two days the formation of a sovereign council at the request of the Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) alliance.

The two sides have reached a power-sharing deal to form the sovereign council.

In a statement, the council spokesman, Shams al-Din Kabashi, said the FFC needs more time to reach a consensus on its five candidates for the sovereign council which was scheduled to be declared today.

Celebrations were held on the streets of Khartoum on Sunday, a day after rare scenes of jubilation filled the streets of the capital to hail the signing by generals and opposition leaders of the documents that will govern Sudan’s three-year transition to civilian rule.
