CAIRO – 16 August 2019: The Libyan Air Force on Friday have targeted a warehouse housing drones at Zuwarah International Airport west of Tripoli, said the media center of Operation Dignity operations room said in a statement.

The warehouse also contained the ammunition of the drones, according to the statement.

The operations room warned places in Libya from dealing with any foreign party, noting that these places will be a legitimate target for the Libyan Air Force.

The national Air Force fighter jets on Thursday said it targeted Zuwarah Airport airstrip and a control room inside it for drones.

Libyan air force fighter jets earlier launched air strikes on some of the militia positions south of Tripoli.

The Libyan Army's military media department said that the airstrikes led to the escape of the remaining militia groups, after the heavy losses they suffered.

The department pointed out that the Libyan Air Force carried out strikes on sites that were stationed by a number of foreign mercenaries.

These strikes were accurate and left a number of elements wounded and dead, the department added.

For his part, Libyan army spokesman Ahmed al-Mismari, in a press conference on Wednesday from Benghazi, said that the Al-Wefaq militias are suffering from the army strikes, especially after the destruction of the air defense system in Misrata.
