2.7-magnitude earthquake hits Cairo, no casualties reported

CAIRO - 13 July 2019: A small earthquake was recorded on Friday in Maadi and Mokatam districts of Cairo with the tremor measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale, according to Chairman of the National Seismic Network Ahmed Badawi.

Badawi added that the quake hit at 11.37 pm local time, saying that there is no reports on casualties or damages due to the quake were immediately reported.

Also, In July 6, the National Seismic Network recorded a quake in the same area with 1.8 on the Richter scale.

In 2018, A magnitude four earthquake shook Egypt at 11:35 am. The earthquake’s center point was located in the al-Katameya area of Cairo, Badawi pointed out, adding that it did not result in any causalities.
