CAIRO - 7 July 2019: The extraordinary African summit kicked off Sunday under the chairmanship of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, the current president of the African Union.

Leaders and heads of governments of 55 African Union countries are taking part in the 12th extraordinary African summit that runs through Monday.

Sisi underlined the importance of putting into force the African Free Trade Area agreement, considering this a great achievement as well as promoting communications with the private sector to implement this important agreement.

He added that great efforts should be exerted to realize economic integration among African states.

Sisi said the development of infrastructure is indispensable, called for promoting investments to realize the utmost benefit of the deal.
