BEIRUT - 6 July 2019: Egyptian Culture Minister Enas Abdel Dayem on Saturday highlighted ongoing great efforts exerted by the Egyptian State to counter terrorism and extremist thought.

She reiterated that the fight against terrorism is one of the main priorities set by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in light of Egypt’s cultural diversity and important role played worldwide.

The minister stressed that such efforts are exerted nationwide to fight extremism and terrorism at both security and ideological levels.

Abdel Dayem re-inaugurated on Friday a branch of the General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO) in Lebanon after its eight-year closure for renovation and development.

She said the reason for her great interest in renovating this branch of the organization in Beirut is that she considers it as one of the main channels for spreading the Egyptian culture, noting that it serves the State's orientation to boost its intellectual presence in the region.
