Passenger caught in Cairo International Airport with €46,000

CAIRO, June 24 (MENA) - Authorities at Cairo International Airport thwarted on Monday an attempt to smuggle more than €46,000 with a passenger who was heading for Rome.

Suspecting the passenger, security forces at the airport checked his luggage, and found a sum of €46,385 found hidden in photo albums.

All required legal measures were taken.

According to Egypt's monetary law, passengers are allowed to carry up to LE 5,000 or $10,000.
