BEIRUT, June 4 (MENA) - Lebanese President Michel Aoun said Tuesday that what happened in Tripoli will not affect the stability in the country, calling for furthering cooperation among the security apparatuses just a few hours after a terrorist attack by a lone gunman left four Lebanese security forces killed in the northern city of Tripoli, the National News Agency NNA reported.

In this context, the Lebanese President closely followed-up on the security developments in Tripoli on the eve of Eid al-Fitr and received successive reports from the concerned security apparatuses.

Aoun stressed the necessity of taking measures needed to uncover the circumstances of the terrorist attack that targeted Tripoli.

He paid homage to the fallen army and Internal Security Forces personnel, stressing the readiness of the army and the security forces to maintain the safety of citizens throughout the country.

The lone wolf attack in Tripoli overnight ended by the attacker blowing himself up after being cornered by security forces in a residential building, officials said Tuesday.
