CAIRO, June 1 (MENA) - Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese said Egypt is the heart of the world and will always be a beacon of safety and security for all humanity.

The pontiff led on Saturday morning a mass at Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church to mark the entry of the holy family to Egypt.

He highlighted Egypt’s old history and distinguished geographical location that have contributed to enabling it to be the source of safety for all humankind.

The mass was attended by a galaxy of Coptic Orthodox Church senior bishops, priests and deacons, Immigration Minister Nabila Makram, a host of leaderships of the ministries of antiquities and tourism, Cairo governor, lawmakers alongside church goers.

The pontiff added that the Egyptian state pays great attention to the revival of the Holy Family route through coordination between the church and ministries concerned, noting that this will be one of Egypt’s most important cultural, touristic and historical projects.
