CAIRO – 19 May 2019: A new website dubbed "Tazkarti" was launched on Sunday, to allow booking tickets online for the Total 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in few steps, obtaining Fan IDs and paying online.

Egypt, in January, was handed the responsibility to host the tournament, after it was stripped from Cameroon for delays in preparations.

Steps of registration

Fans willing to book tickets have to hand their data and get Fan IDs; this identification document, besides the matches tickets, allow its owner to access the stadiums during the tournament.

First, users have to paste the URL "www.tazkarti.com," and then choose "register," to get their Fan IDs. The system would ask for the user's mobile phone number, and would then send a text message to this number containing the activation code of the registration which the user has to enter in the box shown on the screen.

The system would then request the personal data of the fan, according to his/her national ID card, along with a personal picture and a scan of the ID card.

Then the system would start operating to verify the data provided by the user, a step which has been adopted by global systems for the management of world championships such as the FIFA World Cup to ensure the safety of the fans in stadiums.

Finally, the registered fan would shortly receive a new text message or an email containing the number of his/her Fan ID and a password.

The fan would then be able to use the Fan ID and the password to choose the games, the categories of the tickets, and the place where he/she wants to sit. The system also allows users to choose from several electronic payment methods.

Fans can then print their Fan IDs and tickets from one of these outlets:
