CARACAS, May 6 (MENA) - Venezuela's Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza has called for dialogue to end the current crisis in this country.

"It is time for dialogue, for thinking. They are pushing the US Govt into a dead end street," Arreaza was quoted by the foreign ministry as saying on Twitter.

It is not with blockades, sabotages or military threats, the intl community must support dialogue. It's time for Diplomacy!," he added.

The crisis was triggered when opposition leader Juan Guaido, backed by the US, declared himself Venezuela's interim leader in January.

As the head of the opposition-controlled National Assembly, he invoked the constitution to assume an interim presidency, arguing that Nicolás Maduro's re-election last year was illegitimate.
