CAIRO/BEIRUT - 3 May 2019: Lebanon counts on Egypt and its President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi's role in backing Arab cooperation throughout the crucial challenges facing Arab countries, said Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Friday.

The wisdom of president Sisi makes Lebanon rely on his leadership, as well as the role of Egypt, the largest country in the Arab region, Aoun added during his meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly at Babdaa Presidential Palace earlier on Friday.

Egyptian ministers of electricity, petroleum, manpower, communication and trade were present at the meeting, according to a statement issued by the cabinet media office.

Egyptian-Lebanese relations are flawless as they are built on friendship and mutual interests, Aoun said, pointing out to the ongoing efforts to expand fields of common interests.

Meanwhile, Madbouly expressed hope the activities of the joint higher committee would be successful.

The premier expounded key files tackled by the joint committee, along with agreements set to be signed by the two sides
