Egypt's labor force stands at 28.8 million persons in 2018: CAPMAS

CAIRO, April 30 (MENA) - The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has said that Egypt's labor force reached approximately 28.865 million persons in 2018.

CAPMAS statement was released on Tuesday to mark the International Labor Day which is celebrated on May 1st every year.

The statement said the workforce in urban areas reached 12.182 million persons, while in rural areas the total labor force amounted to 16.683 million persons.

CAPMAS put the unemployment rate among youths (in the age categories between 15 and 29 years) at 30.2 percent, with the rate of unemployment among males reaching 21.3 percent and among females 54.4 percent.
