CAIRO - 26 April 2019: The Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation decided to increase operating time at all three lines of Cairo metro during the holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month of Islamic Calendar, during which Muslims worldwide fast from dawn to sunset.

The operating hours for metro, the Egyptian subway, will be increased to run during Ramadan from 5:30 a.m. until 2 a.m., said the company in a statement.

The decision also will be applicable during the three-day feast of Eid al-Fitr, the statement added.

Meanwhile, the government could offer a tender for constructing the first phase of the fourth metro line, which would start from the 6th of October City to Giza Square passing through Al-Haram Street, an official at the National Authority for Tunnels told Egypt Today.
