WASHINGTON, April 10 (MENA) - US Congressman Jeff Fortenberry termed as very important Tuesday's summit between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and US President Donald Trump.

In an interview with Extra News channel, he underlined the depth of the Cairo-Washington ties, noting that the war against terrorism in Sinai is a great sacrifice.

He said the US is looking forward to seeing Egypt restoring its position as the leader of the Middle East.

He called for holding continued dialogue between the two countries to further bilateral ties and solve any problems facing Egypt.

He accentuated that Egypt should enjoy stability at the security and economic levels.

He stressed the key role played by Egypt in combating terrorism in Sinai as well as tightening security on the western Egyptian borders with Libya.

He hailed Sisi's courageous step in establishing a grand church beside a grand mosque in the New Administrative Capital, adding that this step reflects the strong patriotic nature of Egypt.

He affirmed support for the economic reforms which Egypt has carried out over the past years, extolling Egypt's achievements in the Middle East.

He added that realizing stability can be achieved through dialogue and peace.
