CAIRO – 10 April 2019: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi held discussions on Tuesday with his American Counterpart Donald Trump at the White House, said Presidency spokesperson, Bassam Rady.

The American president welcomed Sisi and expressed his government keenness to promote the bilateral relations with Egypt and the Strategic cooperation between both countries as Egypt has a vital role in keeping security and peace in the Middle East.

President Sisi thanked Trump for the latter invitation and praised the strategic relations between Egypt and the US which are based on mutual respect and cooperation, adding that the upcoming period will witness intensive coordination between the two governments to realize the mutual interests and restore peace in the Middle East.

Rady said in a press statement that the meeting touched several economic topics on the top of them was the trade exchange between Egypt and the United State amid the Egyptian successful economic reform in order to create a better investment environment.

The American president was keen to praise the Egyptian efforts in facing terrorism, expressing his country’s full support for the Egyptian war against terrorism. Also, Trump thanked Al Sisi for his apparent religious tolerance.

Trump emphasized how important to continue the cooperation between the US and Egypt in order to terminate the terrorist threat and prevent all sorts of support for terrorists, whether it was money, weapons or individuals.


Al Sisi asserted the Palestinians right to have a state based on borders before the 1967 war and its capital is Eastern Jerusalem.
