Arab meeting on int'l environment conventions kicks off in Cairo

CAIRO, April 7 (MENA) - An Arab team concerned with following up international conventions on chemical materials and hazardous waste started a meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League on Sunday.

The three-day meeting will discuss the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal and the activities of its regional training center.

The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants will also figure high at the meeting.
