CAIRO – 28 February 2019: Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a meeting to find solutions for the severe shortage in Egyptian food and agriculture products abroad.

Ministers of finance, agriculture and industry and trade, as well as a set of representatives from different agencies, attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, the prime minister affirmed that the Egyptian government does its best to overcome all obstacles in the way of export and seeks to duplicate the rate of exports, especially in the agricultural crops field.

"We will remove all obstacles facing our exports. We have to accelerate procedures of exporting food and agriculture products and make sure of their quality. We also have to establish an agency to end all exporting procedures,” Madbouly stressed in the meeting.

The meeting stipulated that number of health inspectors must be increased and that the checking procedure must be enhanced to make sure of the quality of Egyptian products.

The prime minister also referred to the role of quarantine in checking exported and imported products.
