CAIRO, Feb 26 (MENA) - Arab Parliament Speaker Mishaal bin Fahm al Salami sent messages to US President Donald Trump to lift Sudan from the list of state-sponsored terrorism.

In his messages, Salami said that this move came following a session of the Arab Parliament that was held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo on February 10 to discuss the issue.

Participants in the meeting signed a statement to express solidarity with Sudan and its right to remove its name from a US list of state sponsors of terrorism.

In 1993, Sudan was designated a state sponsoring terrorism during the Clinton administration.
