CAIRO – 4 June 2017: Parliament must solve the problem of sewage mixing with drinking water in Qalyubia’s El Qanater El Khayreya City, Parliamentarian Hatem Abdel-Hamed demanded in a Saturday statement.

“All houses in the governorate are floating on sewage, which endangers the lives of citizens,” Abdel-Hamed said, noting that Typhoid has been widespread in the last period and is likely to reappear under such conditions.

Parliamentarian Mohamed Saad Temraz also demanded the parliament discuss the same problems in Beheira governorate, in the northern part of Egypt, in a Wednesday statement.

Temraz pointed out that citizens buy water daily because the local water is contaminated, an extra financial burden on them in addition to the high prices of basic commodities. He stressed the need to promptly solve the problem and alleviate citizens’ suffering.
