CAIRO - 3 February 2019: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday said Egypt is keen on implementing the highest international standards of nuclear security and safety at El Dabaa nuclear power plant.

The president made the remarks during a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Yukiya Amano, in the presence of Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker.

“Egypt seeks to establish full cooperation with IAEA to support the operation and maintenance of the nuclear station,” Sisi said.

The president hailed Amano’s efforts to guarantee the peaceful use of nuclear technology worldwide and back peace and security at the international level, said presidential spokesman Bassam Radi.

Sisi affirmed that Egypt aims to make use of peaceful uses of atomic energy to serve its development goals through the establishment of El Dabaa nuclear power station, the spokesman added.
