Sisi heads mini-summit in Palermo with Haftar, Sarraj

CAIRO- 13 November 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi convened Tuesday, Nov. 13 with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, Libyan Presidential Council Chairman Fayez al-Sarraj, Libyan Military Commander Khalifa Haftar and UN Envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame' in a mini-summit in Palermo, Italy, according to Italian Aki news agency.

The agency affirmed the meeting was also attended by Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia, President of the European Council Donald Tusk and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.

"President Sisi exerted strong pressures on Haftar to convince him to attend the mini-summit, away from the conference program," the Italian-speaking agency said.
