Officer suspended for striking cab driver

CAIRO - 1 October 2018: A police officer has been suspended after he appeared in a video injuring a cab driver with a pistol, according to a Monday statement.

The statement by the Interior Ministry Ministry said the police verified the video and opened an investigation into the Central Security Forces major on top of the public prosecution’s investigation.

The young officer appears striking the driver’s head with the butt of his “official weapon,” the statement noted.
