MOSCOW - 29 August 2018: Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday that he discussed with his Saudi counterpart Adel Jubair the situation in the Syrian city of Idlib.

At a joint press conference with Jubair, he added that they exchanged viewpoints regarding the current state of affairs in the city.

He added that Russia and Saudi Arabia are adamant in fighting terrorism and extremism.

The two sides have agreed on promoting bilateral relations in all domains, added the Russian top diplomat.

For his part, Jubair noted that his country is one of the first countries that fought Daesh terrorist group and other terrorist organizations.

Saudi Arabia is backing a political solution to the Syrian crisis, he added.
