CAIRO – 7 August 2018: President Abdel fatah al-Sisi welcomed the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with high-level accompanying delegation in Cairo on Tuesday.

After receiving the Crown Prince at Cairo’s international airport, both leaders headed to Etihadia Palace where they held closed talks followed by another wider meeting between the Emirati delegation and several Egyptian officials, according to official statement issued by the Presidency spokesperson Bassam Rady.

During the meeting Sisi praised the Egyptian-Emirati relations, describing it as a “perfect model for the international cooperation between countries.”

Al Nahyan expressed his country’s deep appreciation and pride with the strategic and historical relations with Egypt. He affirmed that the Egyptian-Emirati relations are based on mutual respect and interests. Al Nahyan also praised Egypt’s key role in the region which helps maintaining the security of the stability of the Middle Eastern countries.

The talks between Sisi and Al Nahyan tackled several crucial issues related to boosting the two countries relations along with discussing the challenges facing Arabian national security, and to stress on refuse all kinds of interfering in the internal affairs of the Arab countries.

“The UAE and Egypt are united by a long-standing historical relationship that is growing ever stronger. We stand together firmly against all attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of the Arab region or to undermine its security and stability.” Nahyan tweeted after meeting with Sisi.




Last July, Sisi received a UAE ministerial delegation as strong historic ties between the two fraternal countries were hailed.The UAE ministerial delegation included Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future; Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation and Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Well being.

During the meeting, Sisi expressed the feeling of brotherhood and affection of the Egyptian people for the UAE, led by Al Nahyan.

The Egyptian President hailed the strong historic ties between the two fraternal countries and emphasized the keenness of Egypt to continue developing cooperation with the UAE in all domains.

The Egyptian President also pointed out that the main objective of any Arab national project is to raise awareness and build the capacity of the Arab citizens to address the growing challenges facing the Arab region.
