CAIRO - 3 August 2018: The Palestinian embassy in Cairo expressed its gratitude to the Egyptian administration on Friday, for facilitating the procedures for Palestinian pilgrims.

In official statement released Friday, Palestinian Ambassador Diab al-Louh announced that all arrangements to welcome the Palestinian pilgrims who will transit in Cairo on their way to Mecca in Saudi Arabia, thanking the Egyptian administration and security apparatuses for exerting all necessary efforts to facilitate the travel procedures. He also thanked the Saudi Consulate for its cooperation to finish the visas for Palestinian pilgrims.

Egypt announced Friday that it will open Rafah border crossing from Saturday to Tuesday to ease the movement of the Palestinian pilgrims.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi directed the authorities concerned to open the terminal to allow the crossing of nearly 3,000 Palestinian pilgrims from the Gaza Strip to Cairo.

The Palestinian pilgrims will be transferred to Cairo International Airport, where they will take their flights to Saudi Arabia.

The move falls within Egypt's efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the Gazans.
