RAMALLAH - 28 July 2018: Islamic institutions in al Quds warned on Saturday of the ongoing Israeli violations against Al Aqsa Mosque.

The Palestinian institutions deplored storming the mosque by two Israeli officials, accompanied by more than 100 elements of Israeli police and special forces after closing the mosque and expelling its guards and employees, affirming that such move may lead to tension and drag the region into more violence.

This came in a joint statement released by the Waqf Council, the Supreme Islamic Committee, Supreme Fatwa Council and the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem.

The Islamic bodies condemned this deliberate attack by the occupation forces against the worshipers inside Al Aqsa Mosque after Friday prayers, during which the Israeli elements fired tear gas canisters and sound bombs intensively at the worshipers, leaving dozens of them injured.

The bodies as well deplored assaulting the worshipers and detaining a number of Palestinian youth by the Israeli troops.

They termed the latest Israeli measures and violations against the mosque which aim to impose a new status at it as null and void.
