CAIRO – 17 July 2018: The leader of Dawoodi Bohra community Sultan Muffadal Saifuddin in Cairo offered a LE 10 million donation to Tahya Misr Fund (Long Live Egypt fund), said Bassam Rady, presidential spokesperson on Monday.

During the meeting with Saifuddin, the president stressed the historic strong relations between Egypt and the Bohra community, which is based on a permanent openness to all religions and a deep belief in the importance of holding dialogue among different peoples.

In this regard, President Sisi expressed his thanks to the head of the famous Shiite sect for his efforts to restore ancient mosques and launch various charitable activities in Egypt.

In the same context, Saifuddin praised Egypt’s success in achieving security and stability in the last period and in spreading the freedom of practicing rituals.

He also referred to Bohra’s interest in investing in Egypt, hoping that Egypt would achieve a great success through its major national economic projects, praising Egypt's recent achievements in different fields.

This is Bohra’s sultan third visit to Egypt as saifuddin previously visited Egypt in 2014 and 2016.

The Bohra community has already restored the famous Fatimid ancient Al-Hakim Mosque, Juyushi Mosque, Aqmar Mosque and Al-Lolola Mosque in Cairo.
The Bohra community is a group of Indian wealthy merchants whose ancestors lived in Egypt during the Fatimid State.
