CAIRO – 20 May 2017: “Japan will keep on supporting Egypt to achieve prosperity,” Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Friday, according to Osama Heikal, head of the Egyptian Parliament’s Committee of Culture, Information and Antiquities.

The Egyptian Parliament played an effective role in improving security and stability, issuing new laws to develop the investment atmosphere in Egypt, Abe stated during a meeting with an Egyptian parliamentary delegation in Japan.

The Japanese prime minister mentioned that this will lead to an increase in the volume of Japanese investments and tourism in Egypt.

“Egypt is the basis of stability in the Middle East. Sisi's visit to Japan last year and his important speech before the Parliament is a new basis for stronger relations between Egypt and Japan,” Abe added.

Egypt appreciates the Japanese role in supporting education, technology and culture, Dr. Ali Abdel-Aal, Speaker of the Parliament said, according to Heikal. He also stated the Egyptian parliament has recently approved the Japanese loan agreement for the establishment of the Great Egyptian Museum.

Moreover, Abdel-Al invited the Japanese prime minister to visit Egypt and attend the opening of the Great Egyptian Museum in 2018.
