CAIRO – 2 May 2018: Mahmoud Shahin, undersecretary of the Central Weather Forecasting Center of the Meteorological Authority, confirmed that the unstable weather will continue until Friday, with temperatures increasing by up to seven degrees.

Shahin said on On Live on Tuesday that the country is still affected by strong winds, although less affected than on Monday. However, windy conditions will continue and are expected to increase in the southern governorates of Upper Egypt, especially in Aswan, Edfu and Marsa Alam. The weather could worsen and turn into a storm.

Shahin assumes there will be moderate rain in Cairo, the North Coast and Lower Egypt, which will be heavier in the interior areas of Upper Egypt, the Red Sea Mountain range, and North and South Sinai.

Temperatures on Friday will rise to 40°C in Cairo and 43°C in Upper Egypt. Ahmed Abd El Aal, chairman of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, added that the there might be light rainfall on Tuesday night.
