BOGOR - 1 May 2018: Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb had talks on Tuesday with Indonesian President Joko Widodo on a host of issues of mutual interest.

The meeting came ahead of the opening session of the high-level consultative meeting of World Muslim Ulemas and Islamic Scholars at the presidency headquarters in Bogor city to discuss moderate thought of Islam.

Tayyeb will deliver the opening speech at the gathering that will bring together a host of prominent religious figures from the world countries.

For his part, Indonesian Presidential Special Envoy for Dialogue and Interfaith Cooperation and Civilization Affairs Muhammed Syamsudin thanked Al Azhar Grand Imam for his participation in the three-day consultative meeting between Muslim scholars and Ulemas.

Speaking in Arabic, Syamsudin lauded Tayyeb's participation in the meeting, thanking him for giving a keynote lecture at the meeting on the moderate thought concept in Islam.
