CAIRO – 10 May 2017: A 15-year old boy drowned in a small canal in Giza after he tried to find refuge from the heat hitting Egypt Wednesday.

Ahmed A., went to swim in the canal in el-Saff town after the temperature reached 40° Celsius, although he was not a good swimmer, according to investigations.

Locals reported the case to the police after retrieving the body from Arab al-Hesar canal.

The scorching weather is expected to end Thursday with 33° Celsius in the morning.
