CAIRO – 2 May 2017: Mohab Mamish, the newly appointed chairman of the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) remarked in press remarks that West and East Port Said ports will be included inthe international shipping routes coalition.

Mamish added the SC authority is always committed to adopt a marketing policy that goes in accordance with the maritime shipping international standards.
The international shipping lines coallition includes lines of CMA-CGM, Cosco, Evergreen, Ooc, Apl will pass through Port Said ports.

Mamish underscored that the authority will keep on developing the SC, pointing out that the Suez Canal depth now reaches 15 meters long, which allows more of the giant vessels that need to pass through it, such as “mother vessels.”

Three days earlier, “a mother vessel “was the first of its kind to ever enter an Egyptian port, with 11500 containers on board; “this comes as direct result of such development,” Mamish announced.

Mother vessels need a 14-meter draught in order to be able to transit.
